Industries had to be set up to check migration from hill areas

Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna today said that industries had to be set up to check migration from hill areas and prepare concrete action plan for the development of border hill areas. He said that concrete action plan has to be chalked out for every district under District Plan so that every citizen reaped benefit out of them and this was only possible with better coordination between Administrative officers and the public representatives.
Chief Minister Bahuguna, while interacting with the media persons at Circuit House on Thursday said that religious tourism would be encouraged in the state and several other potential places developed into tourist hubs. He said that all the posts reserved for SC/ST would be identified and filled.
The Chief Minister said that very soon the fund would be sanctioned for construction of Barrage on River Koshi to mitigate water scarcity problem in Almora and its adjacent areas. "The government will also try to sanction fund for the construction of Saryu-Seraghat Pumping Project. He also indicated towards government's intention to construct inter-state bus terminus and an auditorium in Almora.
The media persons demanded for a Press Colony. Chief Minister Bahuguna assured them to fulfill the promises made to the press fraternity by former Chief Minister ND Tiwari in his tenure. He assured to sanction fund for various other development projects in the district including pumping projects, upgradation of schools and road constructions.
Chief Minister Bahuguna said that Char Dham Yatra would be further managed in better manner for which he was himself taking personal interest. He said that the problems projected by the media persons would be considered on priority basis. Also present during press conference were Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal, Revenue Minister Yashpal Arya, MLAs Madan Bisht, Manoj Tiwari and other local Congress leaders.
